i love the Home Depot guys!!!

My dogs are both getting old and have hip/arthritis problems.  Lately, when Samantha jumps, she can't quite get up on the bed.  Well that won't do!  Both her and Faith are my sleeping buddies.  So I decided I wanted to make a step stool to help both of them make it up.

Went to the Home Depot today and picked out a nice piece of wood that looked wide enough for a step stool.  Brian came up to me asked if I needed anything to which I told him what my plans were and he measured out the step for twelve inches and made two cuts.  He went up to Victor afterwards to ask what his thoughts were since I didn't have any tools and he thought a screw gun would work best.  Victor said, "Go get ours."

Ohmygosh!  Brian and Victor then proceeded to use their own screws and put together my baby's new step stool!!!  What great guys...  I am so very grateful for what they did today.  Someday I will have tools but today all I needed was a way to put three pieces of wood together.

Brian showed me where the sandpaper was and proceeded to smooth out the edges for me.  We picked out a stain and I was on my way.  I love the Home Depot guys!!!

just the way you are

Just The Way You Are
by Bruno Mars

Oh her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they’re not shining
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying
She’s so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Yeah I know, I know
When I compliment her
She wont believe me
And its so, its so
Sad to think she don’t see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look okay
I say

When I see your face
There’s not a thing that I would change
Cause you’re amazing
Just the way you are

And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you’re amazing
Just the way you are

Her lips, her lips
I could kiss them all day if she’d let me
Her laugh, her laugh
She hates but I think its so sexy
She’s so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Oh you know, you know, you know
I'd never ask you to change
If perfect's what you’re searching for
Then just stay the same
So don’t even bother asking
If you look okay
You know I say

When I see your face
There’s not a thing that I would change
Cause you’re amazing
Just the way you are

And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you’re amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are
Girl you’re amazing
Just the way you are

When I see your face
There’s not a thing that I would change
Cause you’re amazing
Just the way you are

And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you’re amazing
Just the way you are

Christmas came early to my home ~

And Tom (Pumper) played Santa with the delivery... lol

Thank you to all of the members at the Shovelhead forum who have donated to get me started on my SH Angel project bike, especially Fritz who originated the thread that kick started life into my frame purchase and Tom for collecting all of the parts and bringing them down to me. With a lot of help from caring friends, she is on her way.

Tom said the bolts I need will be at swap meets.  Will have to start watching for them around town.  He gave me the manual and I have been looking through it.  Tom G. (Tomhead) has sent plans for a homemade lift that he created for his build last winter and Tom (Pumper) has offered to help me get that assembled along with a few others.

The next steps are in place... have to wait for a payday to proceed. Twice a month she will have something done for her. It will be slow progress but worth every minute. As in all things in life, it is all about the money and building a scoot isn't any different. Everything happens when it's supposed to... :)

Here are a few pics... It is time.

TSVBI Parents Weekend

My nephew Chase never ceases to amaze me, along with the multitude of others who attend and also work at TSVBI.  They have an excellent staff and are building new facilities that are bringing the school into the 21st century.  The program they put on for the parents is informative and interactive and a lot of fun.  The singing by the students, as always, makes me cry.  They were an inspiration as they sang so many songs, including The Climb.  Honestly, I always come away from there knowing that I truly have no problems or difficulties.  They all are so very strong.  Stronger than I could ever imagine being...  without sight...  without hearing...  many without the ability to hold a cup or feed themselves or walk or stand or do anything without help...  without so many other things that we all take for granted.  So many disabilities and yet they smile, they laugh...  they love... they live... and live well. Happy. Compassionate. Content. Caring for each other.  The way they live and love is a lesson for me always.

And ~ another wonderful time driving up to Austin with my mom...  I love to spend quality time with her.   She makes me laugh.  She reminds me of all the fun things we've done.  She is my best friend.  I love her tremendously.  What a great weekend!

THE CLIMB
Songwriters:  Alexander, J; Mabe, J

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

breathing again

"Wow.  It is in the computer.  Do you realize it's been over 20 years since it's been licensed?"

Oh yes.  I know.

***all smiles***

I am finally able to breathe again.

*happy sigh*
