"Mom, I have decided to share your love of books with children who desperately need them - in honor of you this Mother's Day. Your love of learning has now spread around the world!"
Here is a bit more of what was on the card (I love this gift!):
"In your honor, books for kids have been purchased. It's part of Oxfam America's exciting gift program that gives in two ways: by providing a symbolic gift for you as well as supporting people in need.
We can give peace a chance by starting them young. This gift covers the cost of 10 booklets that are designed to teach primary-school kids about human rights and peacebuilding. And that means cultivating a peaceful outlook among young people growing up in war-torn communities.
The proceeds from your gift support Oxfam America's efforts to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice. Together with individuals and local groups in more than 90 countries. Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty, and fights for social justice."
My children always amaze me and make me want to be a better person. The things I learn from them never suffice to surprise me. I love being a mother.
Books spreading peace to children... the perfect trifecta! A perfect gift for *me*.
I ♥ u Bethany!
